Huge news to hit the wire this week. Yelp, the San Francisco-based tech giant specializing in crowd-based online reviews, announced it will be leasing 52,000 SF at 575 7th Street later this year.
Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Terrell Place was close to landing a large tech user, though many believed it would be Facebook (which is still a possibility). Either way, attracting a major tech employer is a gigantic win for Beacon Capital Partners and the entire DC community.
Ever since Venable LLP’s departure to 600 Mass Ave earlier this year, Beacon has committed substantial money and resources into upgrading the property in hopes of attracting cutting edge tenants. The lobby is unlike anything in the city, with massive LED displays covering the surface of its walls. The motion-activated media walls react to the presence of people, changing its displays to interact with the traffic in the building.
Other amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center with virtual workout classes, a Compass Coffee that is more like a quasi-hangout/co-working area, and perhaps most impressive, a new roof deck and amenity center.
The rooftop terrace includes private cabanas with fire pits and a wine bar that is perfect for hosting guests before events at the Verizon Center directly next door. The amenity center also features a game room, conference facility and tenant lounge.
At the corner of 7th & F Street, the location doesn’t get any better. The buzz on this corner is contagious, radiating an energy not always felt in other pockets of DC. There is still plenty of space available in the building, so if you’re interested in arranging a tour, please give us a shout!!
