MRP Realty, one of the DC region’s most prolific landlords/developers, has made a name for itself by incorporating the leading workplace practices into their buildings, no matter how outside-the-box they may seem. And their latest unveiling in 8614 Westwood Center, known as Tysons Town Hall, features a neighborhood office concept unlike anything else in the area.
The Town Hall concept allows tenants to lease pre-built space specifically designed for core business functions, while sharing common areas that may be used less frequently, such as meeting rooms, collaborative areas, a communal kitchen, and perhaps most importantly, a game room. The spec suites surrounding the Town Hall range in size from 2,000 – 5,000 square feet and include a small number of private offices, open work space and a pantry that mirrors the finish and quality of the impressive amenity space.
While many landlords may throw a few treadmills and meeting tables together in an unused portion of their lower level into and call it “amenity space” MRP has double-downed by prominently locating their Town Hall the fourth and fifth floors of the building in addition to their first floor amenity space.
The wow factor hits you immediately as you enter through one of the most high-tech “garage” doors I’ve seen. Gone are the days of the roll up garage door, this one verges on robotic intelligence. The first floor amenity space alone features Shuffle Board, a golf simulator, and a large conference room/lounge area that can transform into a leisurely cocktail hour post-meeting. Building tenants can reserve this via an electronic panel in-suite or simply go online and book.
As you make your way up the building to the Town Hall on the fourth and fifth floors you are welcomed with sleek polished concrete floors, and a beautiful exposed stairway leading up the two-story atrium and pantry areas.
Both Town Halls offer conference rooms, multiple sitting areas, a pantry and quiet space. The spaces are on the front of the building with large windows which allow light to flood in so that the office tenants in the neighboring spec suites can easily spill into the shared space to continue a conversation, reserve a conference room, or just take a break.
As far as transportation goes, I tested the walkability of 8614 Westwood Center Drive first hand and it’s just a short 5 minute walk from the Spring Hill Metro Station.
Here at TechOfficeSpaces.com we have toured some really cool spaces over the past year and this space is among the most unique I have seen. If you are looking for really unique space in Tysons Corner that allows for flexibility, functionality and fun, then it’s time to schedule a tour. Let’s make it happen by emailing me here!
