Junior Achievement Relocates to Creative Spec Suite Designed by Wingate Hughes

Having called Farragut home for nearly a decade, Junior Achievement of Greater Washington knew the location of its next office would be somewhere close by.  With employees commuting from Virginia, DC and Maryland, the access and convenience of the Farragut North & West metro stations has always been paramount to the Junior Achievement team.

After exploring several options along the Connecticut Avenue corridor that would require extensive build-out, Junior Achievement landed a brand new spec suite at 919 18th Street that came move-in ready with all the bells and whistles.

919 18th Street’s boutique 10,000 SF floor plates allow Junior Achievement to boast a double glass entryway directly off the elevator, which leads into a brightly sunlit open work area housing sleek new workstations.  Five private glass offices line the northern facing wall of the suite, with an open work area in the center of the space for collaborative interaction.

Designed by Wingate Hughes Architects, the 5,000 SF spec suite has polished concrete floors, exposed ceilings, a wide open kitchen and exposed columns with reclaimed wood accents that add a rustic texture against an otherwise clean landscape.  The large conference room was smartly kept to one corner and features two full glass walls and a wood paneled wall that compliments the treelike columns scattered throughout the space.

As an organization that prides itself on its collaborative, family-like culture, the large open pantry with funky lighting pendants adds some fun flare for daily lunch and after-work happy hours.

As Kate Keverline, Junior Achievement’s Communications Associate puts it, The space’s inviting natural light and open environment foster collaboration and community in our office. The kitchen, in particular, is a great place to get together for lunch and socializing.

I had the pleasure of representing Junior Achievement in their relocation and can say that as soon as we stepped foot into this spec suite, we knew this was the one. Bright, warm, open, collaborative space ready to breed great ideas and help DC’s youth.  919 18th Street couldn’t be a better fit for this wonderful group.

There is only one 5,000 SF block of space remaining in the building, so if you’re Interested in becoming Junior Achievement’s neighbor, please fill out our free office space questionnaire or email us directly!!!!
